New Eyes

Quinn had her eye muscle surgery on December 18. And it was the most nerve racking thing for me to ever do! The hardest thing I have ever had to do is hand my baby over to a stranger to go have an operation. It took about and hour and 20 minutes. And then we were in the recovery room for about 2 hours, and she got to come home!! She had to wear these little arm restraints to make sure she couldn't rub or scratch her eyes, so that was pretty rough for her.

I can't believe how much of a difference it made. I wasn't expecting it to look so good so soon. You can tell a Huge difference. And she acts like a new kid. She likes to sit and play with her toys now, where before she wouldn't really be content to play. I am so glad that we got it done and that she can actually see now! And the Doctor seemed quite confident that this one did the trick and we won't have to do another one.

These pictures are before... and the top one is after. You can tell a huge difference!

Winter Dance Recital 2009

It doesn't get much cuter than this! Lexi had her winter dance recital on December 7. She always loves to get dressed up in her costume and put all her make up on. I was putting her mascara on and thought to myself that people are gonna think I put fake eyelashes on her because hers are SO long! She doesn't get that from me for sure! Lexi loves dance and looks forward to going every week. She absolutely loves Ms. Katie. The song that they danced to was "Shake your tailfeathers." It was so cute.

She was so cute in her costume!

I love this picture! I think that she looks like me!

Happy Birthday Quinn!

Wow! I absolutely cannot believe that my baby has turned one! Her birthday was Saturday and we had a big party with all of her granparents and great grandparents and even one great-great grandma! She got tons of presents (not from us!! but from her grandparents) like Santa Clause doesn't need to come in a month!! She had her very own cake and instead of digging in with her cute little hands, she decided to go face first! It was so funny. The party was a lot of fun and she was so cute while opening her presents she would let out this squeal that basically killed all of our ear drums! (Bunco girls....you know where she gets that!)

Let me tell you a little bit about what is going on with my little girl. She has got Amblyopia in her eye and she is wearing a patch right now to try and make the bad eye stronger. But someime in the next month she will have a surgery where they go in and strengthen the muscles in the eye. Now it could be fixed in one surgery but it could also take up to three. The doctor said that by the time she is a teenager she will have straight eyes and good vision, but it is going to take 10 years to get it that way! She also was born with a cleft gum. Where her gum on the top didn't grow all the way together because of her frenulum. So next Tuesday we take her to get the surgery on it. So please keep her in your prayers for the next little while! The poor little thing. I feel so bad for her and all that she is going through right now. But I am so thankful that these are the only problems she has, because taking her to Primary Childrens, I saw a lot of little kids a lot worse off than her. I can't even say how thankful I am for both of my kids and that they are healthy, and that what is wrong is completely fixable. I am so glad to have both of these cute little girls. I can't even tell you how much I love being a mom and love being able to stay home with them. They are the light of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way!!

I had to put this pic on here even though you can't see her beautiful eyes that well. But you can tell how happy she is! She is always grinning like that. What a happy baby!

Sitting up in her chair "posing" for our little photo shoot!

Like I said...she dug in with her face!! It was hilarious. And surprisingly enough she was very clean when she got done. Just some on one hand and her face!!

All of our family at the party! I was excited that everyone came. And that with all the craziness that has gone on in my family that there wasn't a fight. Because My mom and Michelle were both there, My Davis Grandparents and my Dad, and Scott was there too. But it was a lot of fun and everyone got a long!

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful Hubby!

Today is our 5th Anniversary! I can't believe that we have been married for 5 years! It's crazy because it seems like we have been together forever sometimes, and others it feels like it hasn't been that long! I could not ask for a better husband. He takes such good care of my girls and I! He puts up with a lot of crap out of me sometimes and I can't even express how much I love and appreciate him!

So to Cameron....thank you so much for everything. You are the best Dad and Husband a girl could ask for. I have no idea what I would do without you. You always love me no matter how onry and mean I can get. I can't believe it was 5 years ago today that we started this wonderful adventure. I love our lives together and I wouldn't change anything. Thank you so much for taking me and the girls to the temple so we could be sealed. You are a great guy and I love you so much!!

Gone Hunting

Well this time of year is always super fun for us! We disappear for about two weeks! I love to hunt and spend time with my dad and my sisters hunting. Cameron had a Buck and Bull combo tag and got a 2 point bull and a 3 point buck. I went with him the night he got his deer and it was a lot of fun! I have to say that I have never seen such a sharp shooter. He dropped his deer in one shot a 400 yards. That is a way long shot! My hunt opened this weekend and we have hunted for 2 days straight. I have walked my butt off! We only saw 2 bucks and I shot at one at 478 yards away and missed. But it was fun! Hopefully I will get one and have some pictures to post! Until then we will disappear yet again. I am pretty sure my kids think I have fell off the planet!

Quinn

Quinn is getting so big! She has started to crawl! She doesn't sit up but she gets around crawling! She is 10 1/2 months and 17 lbs. She has the cutest little personality. She is very stubborn and if she doesn't have her way look out! I can't believe she will be one in November. Where does the time go?

How did this happen?!?!?

I have been sitting here wondering if this is all really happening, and if it is then how....how is my little girl old enough for Pre School? Lexi started last week and I am having the hardest time. Well...I am kinda used to it now, but the day she started I just cried and cried. I just can't believe that the little baby that I was so scared of when I first had her, is now this old! She is so smart and so sweet. But just look out when the attitude starts. She is very independent and likes to do everything herself. And already a little embarassed of mom. Her class is going on a Field Trip to the Zoo and I asked her if she wanted me to come and be a helper, and she said " No, I don't need you to come." Wow! Already embarrassed of me! The 2nd day of school she actually asked if I was going to cry again! I am a total boob! I have found myself crying so much these last couple weeks. She had her 1st primary program yesterday and I cried then too! I am so glad that I have such a wonderful little girl! She is such a good example to Quinn, Cameron, and I!

Hogle Zoo

On the day of the temple dedication we went to the zoo with my mom, Meagan, Madi, Brad, Rachel, and Robby. It was so fun! I absolutely love the zoo! We got to see the baby giraffe and snow leapord. But they didn't have the baby elephant out yet! It was a really fun day!

For some reason, we never get any picuters of just Cameron and I!

We thought this would be cute! You can't see the fear in Quinn's eyes in the pic though. Lexi had a hold of her so tight!

Brad brought his niece Brentanna and her and Lexi had a ball! They are such good friends!

"Slumber Party"

Rachel and I are having a "Slumber Party" on Thursday Sept. 3 at 6:30. At Rachel's house. If you want to come and don't know where she lives call me and I will give you the address.

~If you haven't ever been to a "Slumber Party" it is really not a sleepover. But come check it out! It's lots of fun!

Mom of a 13 year old!

This is my 13 year old sister Madi ( who would probably kill me if she knew I put this pic on here!). In the past week I have spent a lot of time with her. I took her to register for school and also took her school shopping. We have had a lot of fun hanging out together. But let me tell you one thing that is not that fun....two people (that voiced it) thought I was her MOTHER!!! Pretty sure I was 10 when she was born but whatever!

Fair Days 2009

I have to say that as soon as Fair Days ends that means summer is over. We had a lot of fun this summer. We went to Jackson Hole, built a derby car, crashed a derby car, played softball, and had fun at 7 peaks!

We wanted to have my derby car done by July 24 because it is Cameron's birthday. So we went out to start my car so I could practice driving it before the derby. But it wouldn't start and wouldn't start! We figured out that the carburetor was bad. So we got another one and it wouldn't work either! So by this point I was thinking that I wasn't gonna be able to drive. But we finally got another one that worked. We went over to a field in Midway to let me practice. Well Cameron thought that he needed to take it for a spin and ended up braking my back axle! Not many can say they broke and axle BEFORE the derby! I drove the next night in the actual derby. It was fun, but I don't think I ever need to do it again. Especially since I was sore for a week! But at least I can say I have done it! Needless to say my awesome brother-in-law won the derby! He is an awesome driver!

We spent the next week at the Heber Fair Days, watching my sisters show their lambs, playing at the carnival, and watching the parade. I am so sad to see summer go, but super excited for the next chapter of our lives to start....sending Lexi to pre school! I can't believe she is already old enough!

This is my beautiful derby car AFTER the derby. The rear fender got pretty damaged!

My cute girls and I at the Fireworks on the 24th of July. (Cameron was fixing the rear axle that he broke!)

Lexi thought she needed to try on my helmet and get ready for the derby!

Lexi and Rachel riding in the parade on the derby car. Brad's trophy is taller than Rachel!

This is for my Husband

I just need to take a minute and say what a wonderful husband I have...
All I have to do is say something I want to do or get and he remembers and tries to make it happen. Like when I very casually mentioned that it would be fun to derby with my sister. And not a week later, he had bought me a derby car. And not only that he has spent every free minute this summer building it for me. Spending hours and hours and not getting home some nights until after midnight. And he spent his whole birthday working on my car. I can't even express how blessed I am to have a husband who is so in tune with my feelings an needs. He is such a good dad to my girls and I couldn't ask for a better husband. How many husbands actually help with laundry, and stay home 3 nights a week with the kids. He always makes sure that the girls and I are happy and taken care of.

So Cameron...Thanks so much for always thinking of me and taking good care of us. I love you so much and appreciate all you do!

Lexi's 1st Concert!

So... Lexi was invited to her first concert on the 4th. My 16 year old sister invited her to go with her to the Stadium of Fire and to see the Jonas Brothers! She was super excited and said " Mom, Meagan chose me instead of one of her friends." It really made her happy. When I was explaining to her what the Jo Bros would be doing she looked a little perplexed, she said " Now mom, it's the Jonas Brothers on TV right?" and said yes. Then she got this funny little look on her face and said " Well. are they Human?" I almost died laughing. Apparently because they are on TV they must be fake! It was quite hilarious. She had a complete ball, and actually has pretty much slept all day today because she didn't get home til 1:00 am.

Bachelorette Party, Transformers, and Derby Cars

Well...we haven't been doing much lately. Just hanging out at 7 Peaks, working on the Derby car, playing softball, and working. So I guess we have been doing a lot! Luckily coed softball is over, so I am done, but Cameron still plays on Mondays. The derby car is coming a long slowly, and is now parked on my brand new patio! And many of you know how OCD I am, and can probably guess that is totally driving me INSANE!!!

Jenn's bachelorette party was on Friday night. And I debated for days whether to go or not. I decided to go and it was so much fun!! I had a blast. I was the only one not drinking so I was the driver, but I didn't mind because we had so much fun at Harry O's dancing!

So Transformers was AWESOME!!! I can't even say how much I love Shia. He is so awesome. I never would've even watched Transformers because I am totally not into those kind of movies, but I did because he is in it, and now I love it! I seriously love him!

I am so excited for a lot of movies coming out soon....

~ Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
~ The Time Traveler's Wife
~ GI Joe ( only because Tatum Channing is in it) and of coarse
~ New Moon!!!

Redneck Woman!!

So as a lot of you have now heard...I am going to drive in the Heber derby! Some are a little concerned that I may have a slight panic attack. Seeing as how I have them when on leisurely Jeep rides with the Epps'! But I am way excited! This is my beautiful car. It is an 86 New Yorker. It is actually kinda cute, it even has a sun roof, which we will be covering in case I get flipped on my top! At this point we are stripping it. Apparently that means you have to take everything out. Everything really meaning everything...like seats, dash board, lights, windows, etc. It is actually kind of fun, I worked on cutting all the wires the other night. I am kind of debating what color to paint it. Obviously pink is totally the way I want to go...but then I might look to girly and people will go after me. So now I am thinking like bright purple with silver flames! You have to have the flames, or it wouldn't be redneck enough!

So this is the car from the front...those red things are the horns. Apparently that's what they look like underneath! Just looks like a souped up bike horn to me.

This is me in my "work on the derby car" clothes, working on the derby car.

And this is my face after working on the car. I was so proud to be able to show that I actually worked, and I actually got dirty.

Lexi turns 4!

Lexi turned four on June 1st! I absolutely can't believe I have a 4 year old! She shouldn't be this old, it is so crazy. We had cake and ice cream with all of the family the night before. And the next day I took her and Ellie to Build a Bear. It was so fun for them! After she got done opening all of her presents from the family, we brought out the Barbie Jeep we got her. It was all put together and ready to ride. Except...she didn't want anything to do with it! She had minor meltdown when everyone told her to get in and go for a ride. In fact...she told me to take it back to the store! After everyone left, she decided to take it for a spin, and now I can't get her out of it. Lexi's birthday is always the kickoff to our summer, and this year I think it's gonna be fun. We bought season passes to Seven Peaks, and we plan on spending a lot of time there! Another thing that's gonna happen this summer is that I am going to drive in the Derby! YAY! I am so excited and just a little scared, but Rachel and I are going to have a blast doing it. So if you didn't get tickets, you need to find some so you can come watch me!

This is her standing by the Jeep pretending she likes it!

These two had so much fun a Build a Bear! It was so cute. I was kind of thinking "What the Hell am I doing bring 2 four year old girls here." Because they wanted swim suits, pj's, and furniture for their bunnies! But it turned out to be way fun. I told them they could choose where to go to lunch, and they chose the pretzel place in the mall!

When we got home Ellie came to play. They put their bunnies in the back of the Jeep and rode around for hours! It was so cute!

Jackson Hole

On Memorial Day Weekend we took off and went to Jackson Hole for a little trip. We left on Sunday afternoon, avoiding most of the Holdiay Traffic. It took us forever to get there because it was raining like CRAZY! And at some points we couldn't even see the road so we had to go way slow! I was so excited when we entered Star Valley, so I could get some cheese curds. And wouldn't ya know, they were closed because is was sunday! On Monday, we ventured to Yellowstone. Lexi was fascinated by Old Faithful and couldn't quite figure out how the water shot out of the ground. It took us all day to make the big loop from the South Entrance to Mammoth Hot Springs and back. And if you know Lexi, a whole day in the car can be quite entertaining, considering that she never shut up the whole time! We saw 3 Black Bears, about a Million Buffalo, some Elk, and a Fox. It was a lot of fun!

We asked a nice man to take this picture of our little family.

Lexi when we first got to Old Faithful. We got there just in time because we only had to wait about 2 minutes for it to go off. And it wouldn't have gone off for 90 more minutes had we missed it.

This big guy was right off the road! We pulled up right next to it and I could've slapped it in the ass! But before I took the picture I made Cameron pull forward a little so it didn't attack me!

I've been a SLACKER!

Well lately we have been pretty busy and I have been slackin on the blogging! So from my last post about Round Robin...both of my teams did pretty crappy. But it was a good time.
We had Rachel's wedding on the 25th of April. It was so pretty and everything turned out so well. Lexi was one of the flower girls with Brentanna and Caden was the ring bearer. It was so cute! I am so happy for Brad and Rachel they are the cutest couple and are doing so good.
A couple of weeks ago we poured a patio on the side of our house. We had the girls put their hand prints and foot prints in it. Lexi was so excited to do her hands but when it came time to do the feet she had a complete meltdown! I have no idea why! But it was cute. I am excited the patio is finally done so we can BBQ and stuff. We bought a firepit and have already had one fire with the Grahams and made smores. I think that will be happening a lot this summer!
Quinn is 6 months old now and she is so cute! She finally rolled over from her back to her belly. She eats cereal now...and I think she is really chunky but apparently she is only in the 30th percentile for her weight. And she is in the 90th for her height! She is so much fun.
Lexi's birthday is in a couple of weeks. I can't believe she will be 4! It seems like she should still be Quinn's age! She was in a dance performance last week for the Torch Run for the Special Olympics. It was so funny because she kept on complaining of a belly ache as soon as we got there. And she looked like she was really in pain. I went over to check on her and she was lying in the pine cones! So I could tell she was really not feeling good. But she got on the stage and danced her little heart out and then she was just fine!
Cameron had to buy yet another toy! A motorcycle this time. I am telling you he has way too many hobbies!! Softball has now started and that's pretty much what we will be doing all summer. Cameron plays 2 days a week and I play 1. But it is so much fun! All in all we are doing really well and staying really busy!

Pull....!!

Well...this Sunday is the State Round Robin. I am going to compete on the 3rd Place winning team and the Ladies team from the Heber Valley Trap and Skeet Club. So how the Round Robin works is you go for 3 weeks and shoot 25 rounds from 3 different trap houses. And they track your score for the first 2 weeks and then place you on a team. Well I did fairly well the first 2 weeks shooting an average of 49 out of 75 ( that's okay for me...not my best!). But then the last week I don't know what happened!!! I shot so crappy I can't even remember my score! But at least I still made the Ladies team and my team took 3rd. Cameron got me into Trap Shooting 2 years ago. I started shooting a .20 gauge and could only hit like 2 out of 25! But then Cameron took me to Sportsman's Warehouse and bought me a Browning Gold, women's model. And now I do pretty good! Cameron has been shooting for about 10 years and he is awesome! There isn't one person at the Heber Gun Club who can beat him! The first year we were married...he shot 225 out of 225 for the three weeks and when he went to state, he had to shoot off for High Overall. He competed with like 70 year old guys who have shot all their lives and beat all 3 of them. So I guess that he is one of the best in the state! In fact...when he was 15 he traveled to Ohio to the Grand National Trap shoot, and was 3rd in the whole Nation for his age group! ( I like to brag about him). He has shot the Round Robin for nine years and won High Overall every year! And yet somehow his team never makes it to state, so that's kind of a bummer for him. But I am so glad we do this, it's something fun for the 2 of us to do together.

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

So...not much has been going on with our family lately. We have just been hangin out. Quinn is getting so big! I absolutely can't believe it. She is 4 months old and smiles, coos, and giggles at us. She weighed 13 lbs. at her 4 month check up. I can't believe how fast it goes.
And last week we cut Lexi's hair for the very first time. We cut about 6 inches off and it is so cute! I am so glad we got rid of the stringy baby hair. Except we lost the curls. But it is cute. She is doing good. And loves going to dance, she is so excited for her upcoming recital and it's not even til the end of May. I can't believe she is going to preschool in the fall. She still needs to be little.
A couple weeks ago Melissa, Sarah and I took the kids to my dad's farm so they could see the baby lambs and goats. It was so fun, they got to hold the little lamb in the picture. When we went over to the goats, we saw the 2 legged goat! It was born on a really cold night and it's back legs froze off! It was so sad, and the kids didn't quite know what to think about it. They also got to pet the mule. It was a lot of fun.
So other than that stuff, we are pretty boring. My sister's wedding is coming up and so I have been busy helping her, and I am so excited for her.
